| The First Israeli in Space The Story of Colonel Ilan Ramon, The First Israeli in Space, is a film about Ilan Ramon, Israelis first astronaut. It follows the footsteps of Ilan Ramon from the beginning of his training until his untimely death when the Shuttle Columbia disintegrated over Texas. Ilan was one of the seven person crew on the ill-fated flight STS-107, a 16 day scientific mission which ended in tragedy sixteen minutes before it was scheduled to land. For more than four years a film crew from Israelis Public Television Station, headed by director Neil Weisbrod, documented the long road which led Ilan, a veteran F-16 pilot in Israelis Air Force, to NASAs Astronaut Training Facility in Houston and to the Launch Pad in Florida. This film is dedicated to the memory of the seven crew members of the Columbia Space Shuttle that crashed to earth on February 1st, 2003. The entire crew including Israeli astronaut, Colonel Ilan Ramon, were killed. Running Time: 70 minutes. | |||||||||
